The origins of SAM35

SAM 35 in the UK followed soon after the concentration of interest in the USA and it was from those same emotional roots that David Baker established SAM35 in UK. Individuals who appreciate human skills be they in the Arts, Industry, Rural skills or our interest in Model Making resent and resist the distruction of such skills by "Commercial" interests in particular. Printing and photography will never destroy the special appeal of a a picture painted by a good amateur or Goya. Nor will commercial pressures ever begin to equal the appreciation of traditionally built models be they Aircraft, Boats or live steam Locomotives. SAM35 members apply traditional craft skills to the replication, repair and maintenance of flying model aircraft because it makes special demands of us as Human beings.

Join us today using the online application form, the modest annual fee includes our excellent Magazine 'SAM35 Speaks', posted to you every month which always features new ideas to put into your model, miniture plans, project ideas, competition results etc. from all over the UK and pieces from abroad too. No individual on our Committee nor those who organise local Competitions and other events gets paid, like all of us they do it for their enjoyment and for others to enjoy. We don't take ourselves too seriously either, we engage ourselves in this hobby for fun.
